Today John Hawthorne faced the judge for the first time. He will not receive any bond. Watch video on www.orlandosentinel.com of his arraignment. John Hawthorne was mostly silent and didn’t have much to say during his visit with the judge.

It is also said by sources that Cameron Milner ratted his friend out. How ironic? Just when you think you have a friend, you find, most people are not willing to go through the gutter with you. Also, John Hawthorne has now been presented with a public defender. Does this young man have money or not? Where are his parents? Where is his support system? I’ve seen many of his friends of his on my blog and a few other sites leaving their sordid messages, some seem concerned and caring, some seem irrational and supportive of his behavior. Either way, they are there. I have not heard from his parents, or anything of the sort.

This is not too abnormal, most of the times parents don’t speak immediately at their childrens issues in the beginning, mainly, they are handling their childs affairs. I hope his parents come out soon. I also hope that they are not ashamed of their son. I’m curious to know whether or not they’ve disowned him, or were fed up with his erratic behavior. Also I wanted to present this… Do you know of his facebook page? I received some emails today in my personal inbox from a source that states that there are hate messages on John Hawthornes facebook page. If you’re familiar with this, shed some light and send the link as well. I was told that these messages are not a hate for the crime committed, but more like hate for the victim.
This is concerning to me. I don’t think that many people will have a problem with John Hawthorne being denied bond. Yet there will be some that think he should roam the streets, even after this crime.
Any questions, any thoughts, please post them here. Any updates and personal information that you want to share about John Hawthorne, Cameron Milner, and especially the victim in this Joel David Bonner, (we’ve had decrepancies about the spelling of his name) I’ve seen it to be Boner as well. Please correct me if possible. thanks

Please ask your friend, the sweet, innocent, humanitarian Cameron Milner why he did not call the police with that cell phone he used to take photos of John Hawthorne covered in Joel’s blood, or at least an ambulance. Maybe you should review the police reports with your friend the Chief.
Did Milner think Joel’s body would just rot and blow away and never be found? Perhaps he and Hawthorne had further plans for the body.

I think you all are ignorant because you all talking about a situation that you could not possibly comprehend unless you were there, and you all definitely need to get off of Cams case because that kid would not hurt a fly. John’s thinly veiled lies are being revealed. For us, the family, this story grows sadder and more evil with each revelation. Hawthorne’s cruelty is despicable.
The investigative team continues to work for the prosecution of John Hawthorne and his secret accomplices. They too will be brought to the forefront.

As you may know the case continues to grow and the evidence is mounting. If you have kept up with what has transpired you know the questionable judge has been dispensed with and a righteous Judge has replaced him. I am hopeful that young john will be back in jail soon. Then there is the matter of his family life…
Though this began just four weeks ago it seems like forever.
It is important to resolve murders. Murder is a crime against society and the individual. Most individuals in society will not commit murder. For that reason alone murder should be discouraged by proper judgment and punishment. No grandstanding by killers. Set an example in sentencing that will provide a deterrent to the crime.
For Joel, his siblings and parents justice is required to satisfy the natural demand for criminal punishment and closure. Victims families have the right to seek justice
and proper resolve.
john committed a hate crime. john branded Joel as “homeless and gay” and in his mind he killed for these reasons and the pleasure he derived from it. This is where the hate crime stuff comes from. john’s own admission. There is hate crime law supporting gays but not homeless. That Florida is now the #1 homeless torture/murder state in our country is a thing of shame not honor. I believe Florida’s main income producer is tourism not oranges. Perception becomes important. There have been some very high profile murder cases in FL but for the most part the perps were not native but entered the state to commit their crimes. I lived in FL from ‘76 to ‘80 and cannot recall wanton violence of this kind. People were safe to travel and enjoy the scenic beauty FL offers.
“Come Enjoy Florida, It’s Killer!” meant something different in the past.

John was such a great fighter he was never even touched, not a mark on him, by his quarry (stabbed in the back as he walked away). Let the proof be in the pudding. Leave your denials of forensic and other sciences out of it. Forget the science(?)of criminal psycology and deny all you cannot fathom my 19 year old pal…
Those punk kids need to go to jail for life: Hawthorne for stabbing the guy to death fifteen times, and his punk friend for not stopping him and not calling an ambulance. I’d like to start off by saying, Lon, I’m sorry for your loss.
I recently graduated from West Orange HS in 2008 and I was a real good friend of John through middle school and the beginning of High School but we drifted from there. We still would stop to chat and catch up and I would occasionally run into him at some parties. Yes, I was extremely shocked when I heard about this news, and I never thought John would be capable of doing ANYTHING like this.
But he did, and now a life has been taken.
Regardless of my past friendship with John, I honestly can’t sit here and try and defend him. Neither can ANYONE else regardless of how well you knew him. Simply because YOU WERE NOT THERE!

Fortunately for Cameron Milner he will probably get the chance to testify against his best buddy to keep from going down with him. Both are guilty. BOTH. Did Cameron Milner try to stop the murder? 3.)Also the orlando sentinel contradicted itself by stating that john pulled out his knife begining to cut his stuff up but then they said while joel was on top of him he had pulled his knife out for the first time and began stabbing him???

My children preffered to pronounce our name Bonner but in a cruel and thorny world this tactic failed. My girls have no nicknames, just a last name. This may be criminal in some state so do not tell.
I am Joel David Boner’s uncle Lon. Joel held a passport and had traveled to the Phillipines, Cambodia, Thailand and perhaps to places unknown by his family. He chose “tent travel” kind of like the old “youth hostel” travel before the movies came out. Yeah backpacking accross Europe is not criminal yet is it? Imagine a person “tent camping in America? “Worthless vagabond” “homeless bum” monikers come to mind.
Joel is the son of my older brother Paul H. Boner JR and comes from a family of 10 children having 4 brothers and 5 sisters. With all that family Joel was a quiet man and a gentleman.
On the otherhand, having listened to the news reports,
John Hawthorn is merely a predator who has made his first kill. In considering all the witness statements and the testimony of the Police reports (all simply the regurgitation of the murderers own words) several items do not fit the picture.
1- since when did all night beer drinkersfail to sleep or pass out? is this a new additive to beer? Drink all night
kill some guy, go home shower up, comment on my social experience of the evening, have a donut?
This sounds more like drugs than beer to me, maybe methamphetamine. School drop out?
2- the big altercation. In a fight there are two involved.
In the video of the now timid murderer he has no “marks”
demonstrating anyone sitting astride him while he was prostrate on the ground fearing for his life. No fight.
3- John having arrived at the homeless resort finds Joel sleeping and wakes him up. By his own admission he has already begun cutting up Joel’s possessions with what?
Pinking shears? No his own knife, and once Joel is outside the tent facing him does John put his knife away?
4- in his early statement to the police John said “he (Joel) tried to walk away from me and that” pissed me off?
Odd that Joel was stabbed 4 times in the back.
5- Cameron the High School Grad was present during the whole experience (hope it was good for you too) and did nothing. Wait, in the early statements John said Cameron helped him “get Joel” down, regardless Cameron saw the murder in progress and did nothing, he heard Joel’s plea for help and did nothing, went home and showered. That by law is an accomplice (after? during?).
